The School of Business and Economics (SBE) at North South University (NSU) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), headquartered in Kansas City, Kansas, USA. This accreditation makes SBE the first business school in Bangladesh to receive this globally recognized accreditation in 2015. The ACBSP accreditation focuses on recognizing teaching excellence, determining student learning outcomes, and a continuous improvement model by ensuring a student-centered teaching and learning approach. As an ACBSP-accredited School, the SBE is committed to continuous improvement to ensure that the programs prepare the necessary skills of students for the job market.
The SBE is also a member of the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS) in the United Kingdom, becoming the first business school from Bangladesh to obtain this membership in 2020. As such, SBE is now considered as competitive as the degrees offered by most reputed UK universities. The CABS membership supports development and promotion of teaching faculty, advancement of the quality of teaching, contribution to public relations to support student recruitment and satisfaction, and to meet different international accreditation standards.
The SBE is also making considerable progress toward achieving the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation as part of its long-term commitment to global excellence in business education. The AACSB accreditation is known, worldwide, as the longest-standing, most recognized form of specialized accreditation that an institution and its business programs can earn.
Furthermore, the SBE is advancing towards achieving the South Asian Quality Assurance System (SAQS) accreditation awarded by the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA). SAQS is a globally benchmarked system for the business school for mentoring, quality improvement, and quality assurance, and accreditation. The SBE aims to achieve this regional accreditation by 2025.
